The  Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon was born in 2022 — not just as a race, but as a bold idea: could a single sporting event spark a region’s transformation of Kasese that is known as the home for the Rwenzori Mountains National Park hence the name as Rwenzori Marathon.

Through the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park and along the border of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The marathon (42.2. km) runners crossed the Equator — the only internationally certified marathon in the world where that’s possible.

As a flagship event in kasese, renowned for its challenging course, breathtaking views of Rwenzori Mountains and vibrant atmosphere, the marathon has earned its place as a must-do event on the African racing calendar.
