13 Days Luxury Gorillas, Rwenzori & Chimpanzee Tracking
13 Days Gorillas, Rwenzori Trekking & Primate Chimpanzee- Rwenzori Expeditions.
Uganda is probably the best country to visit if you are interested in primates and Rwenzori hiking expeditions on the same trip. Chimpanzees are found in a couple of different forests in Uganda, and mountain gorillas are primarily found in Bwindi National Park.
This is a great opportunity to combine Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas) with Chimpanzee trekking or Habituation experience in Kibale National Park. Kibale National Park has been declared as the best place to view habituated wild Chimpanzees.
As its well know that Rwenzori mountaineering takes you through either of the two routes, book the 7 days Rwenzori mountain central circuit trail to hike through the various vegetation cover up to the top of Margherita peak the highest point on Uganda's famous rwenzori mountains national park located in south west with the nearest time being Kasese.
Over 30,000 people hike rwenzori mountains using the central circuit Route on either 7 days Mountaineering or 8 days Rwenzori Hiking tour heading up the Bujuku valley, over the Scott Elliot Pass to the stunning Kitandara Lakes then over Fresh field Pass into the Mubuku Valley. As mentioned above, there are numerous huts along this section, most of which are quite nice. The trails are very rough and contain deep mud in many places but are quite well maintained given the weather and conditions.
At various times efforts have been made to install boardwalks over some of the deeper bogs but many of these have rotted and are currently in various states of disrepair. It takes most people roughly a week to approach and climb Mt. Stanley.
